Description

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was first established in 1966, following a the tragic massacre of young students peacefully protesting against apartheid laws, adopted by the South African government. Proclaiming the International Day, the United Nations General Assembly called upon the international community to redouble its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.

The Dirt

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on March 21st with activities led by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, New York and at field-presences.

Usermonkey provided design for the Tampa Bay Area observance, developing posters, direct mail pieces, bookmarks, letterhead and online banner ads. The design features strong photography from award winning photographer Diana Leavengood along with a natural color palette and a clean layout that just hints at edginess.
